On November 8, Huang Chunmei, Director of the School of Intelligent Manufacturing of Guangdong Technology College, led faculty and students to visit the School of Entrepreneurship for an exchange. The two sides discussed and exchanged views on topics such as “innovation and entrepreneurship education and talent cultivation in universities, academic research and cooperation, and student innovation and entrepreneurship activities and practical teaching.” This exchange aimed to strengthen the quality of talent cultivation jointly, clarify training objectives, promote interdisciplinary and inter-school training cooperation, enhance academic exchanges, interactions, and collaboration, and learn from each other’s innovative methods and models in innovation and entrepreneurship education to provide references for promoting educational reform between the two schools.
Zhu Xia, General Manager of Wuhan University of Technology’s Incubator, warmly welcomed the faculty and students from the School of Intelligent Manufacturing of Guangdong Technology College and shared the development history, talent cultivation, unique educational model, characteristic Dream Studio for innovation and entrepreneurship incubation platform, innovation and entrepreneurship activities, and achievement transformation of the School of Entrepreneurship. She emphasized that the School of Entrepreneurship, as one of the first national-level innovation and entrepreneurship schools, undertakes the mission and tasks of integrating teaching and research in entrepreneurship management education and research, organizing entrepreneurial competitions and exchanges, and operating and providing services of entrepreneurial carriers. By adapting to the needs of industrial transformation and the requirements for “innovation and entrepreneurship” talent cultivation, it introduces a new approach to empowering the university’s innovation and entrepreneurship talent cultivation through the Dream Studio platform. This new approach holds significant theoretical and practical value for enhancing the quality of college students’ employment and entrepreneurship, optimizing the efficiency of university technology transfer, and creating an upgraded version of innovation and entrepreneurship education.
Director Huang Chunmei stated that this exchange has played a positive role in promoting talent cultivation and innovation and entrepreneurship education reform in her college, providing important references and insights. Both sides could explore how to break down disciplinary barriers to cultivate innovation and entrepreneurship talents with multidisciplinary backgrounds, learn from and draw on the organizational experience of student innovation and entrepreneurship activities, strengthen academic research and cooperation between the two universities, continuously improve innovation and entrepreneurship education and talent cultivation models, enhance academic research levels, and promote the development of student innovation and entrepreneurship activities and practical teaching activities to cultivate high-end talents with a multidisciplinary background.
Finally, the faculty and student representatives visited the Dream Studio of New Energy and Intelligent Vehicles, the Dream Studio of Ceramic Art, and the Dream Studio of Large Cruise Ships and Yachts. Through these visits and exchanges, they gained a deeper understanding that the university students’ innovation and entrepreneurship practice platform is an important practical carrier for the reform of university innovation and entrepreneurship education. It is not only a “Dream Studio” for integrating internal advantageous disciplines to cultivate students’ innovation and entrepreneurship abilities directly but also a “foundation stone” for integrating and gathering industrial resources such as policies, funds, and supply chain information externally.
This exchange visit provided valuable learning and communication opportunities for faculty and students from both universities. The visiting faculty and students expressed that they benefited a lot and highly praised the innovation and entrepreneurship practice platform and educational model of the School of Entrepreneurship. In the future, it is hoped that the School will further strengthen cooperation and exchanges with other universities and jointly promote the vigorous development of innovation and entrepreneurship education.
