[School News]Students and Faculty of the School of Entrepreneurship Visit Wuchang Shipbuilding Industry Group for Learning and Exchange

In order to enhance students' understanding of the shipbuilding industry and broaden their perspectives, faculty and students from the School of Entrepreneurship at Wuhan University of Technology visited Wuchang Shipbuilding Industry Group on the morning of December 23 for an insightful learning tour.

The event began with introductions by Deputy Dean Peng Huatao and Director Wang Ruyi, who provided an overview of the background, main functions, and objectives of the School of Entrepreneurship. The School is dedicated to fostering students' innovation and entrepreneurial spirit, as well as their practical abilities. This visit to Wuchang Shipbuilding Industry Group was part of an initiative to integrate the development of education, science, and talent, and to explore the collaborative innovation model between universities and enterprises. The aim is to support the construction of a strong maritime nation, a strong transportation country, and a strong educational system, thereby inspiring students’ innovative thinking and laying a solid foundation for future innovative development.

Wang Leilei, Deputy Secretary of the Youth League Committee at Wuchang Shipbuilding Industry Group, warmly welcomed the faculty and students from the School of Entrepreneurship and discussed the profound significance of the exchange. He mentioned that Wuchang Shipbuilding, as a leading company in the shipbuilding industry, not only possesses advanced technologies and equipment but also has a team filled with innovation and practical experience. He expressed hope that both sides could strengthen communication and cooperation, contributing to the cultivation of more industry talents with innovative thinking and practical skills.

After the meeting, students, accompanied by staff, embarked on the long-awaited tour of the company’s production workshops. There, they witnessed the entire process of shipbuilding, from the cutting and welding of raw materials to the assembly of ships. The craftsmanship and rigorous work attitude of the workers left a deep impression on the students.

This visit not only provided a valuable learning and practical opportunity for the students of the School of Entrepreneurship but also offered important insights for their career planning and future employment paths. The students expressed their gratitude for this rare experience and vowed to make the most of their studies, enhancing both their professional knowledge and practical abilities.
