On the afternoon of December 3, 2024, Zhang Zhijian, instructor of the Entrepreneurial Industry Awareness course, led 31 enthusiastic and curious students on a hands-on exploration into the world of new energy vehicles (NEVs). Aimed at deepening students' understanding of the current landscape and future prospects of the NEV industry, the visit provided valuable opportunities for firsthand experience and professional development.
The Journey Begins
At 2:00 p.m., the group set off from the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Park, filled with a thirst for knowledge and a spirit of discovery. Their destination: the Wuhan University of Technology Science Park, where their deep dive into the world of new energy vehicles officially began.
Insights into Hydrogen Fuel Cell Technology
At 2:30 p.m., the group arrived at Wuhan Hyvitech Co., Ltd., a leader in the hydrogen fuel cell industry known for its strong technical foundation and market presence. Company representatives gave students a comprehensive overview of the development trends in China’s hydrogen energy sector, market demand, and the research, production, and testing of hydrogen fuel cells. The students actively engaged with the team, particularly on questions of safety, receiving detailed explanations in a lively and orderly discussion.
Exploring NEV Drive Systems
At 3:30 p.m., the group visited their second stop: Wuhan Institute of Technology Tongyu Xinyuan Power Co., Ltd, a company specializing in the development and manufacturing of NEV drive systems. Students toured the modern production lines and system testing labs, gaining a better understanding of the critical roles of electromagnetic signal control and thermal management in NEV drive systems. Their in-depth exchanges with engineers provided clear, technical insights into both the mechanisms and applications of NEV technologies.
Smart and Connected Technologies in Action
At 4:30 p.m., the final visit took the students to Shanghai Baolong Automotive Technology (Wuhan) Co., Ltd., a company recognized for its achievements in NEV smart technologies and vehicle connectivity. Company staff introduced the students to the company’s product evolution and guided them through high-tech production areas. The students were deeply impressed by the company's innovative R&D philosophy and technological capabilities, with many expressing renewed motivation to pursue innovation in NEV technologies.
Practice Yields Understanding, Inspires Aspirations
Throughout the entire journey, Mr. Zhang encouraged students to ask questions and explore boldly, emphasizing that practice is the ultimate test of truth. He urged the students to take full advantage of this rare learning opportunity to enhance both their professional knowledge and hands-on skills.
