Associate Professor Lin Daomi from the School of Business at Sun Yat-sen University delivered a special academic lecture titled “QCA Analysis of Overseas Returnees’ Entrepreneurship Satisfaction” to all first-year graduate students via an online meeting, delving into cutting-edge issues in the field of overseas returnees’ entrepreneurship.

Firstly, Peng Huatao, Deputy Dean of the School of Entrepreneurship, provided a detailed introduction and warm welcome to Professor Lin Daomi. Professor Lin’s research focuses on areas such as strategic management, innovation and entrepreneurship, and international talent mobility. He has chaired and participated in numerous national and provincial subjects and published many high-quality papers in top domestic and international journals such as the Journal of International Business Studies, Entrepreneurship Theory & Practice, and Management World. Using Qualitative Comparative Analysis (QCA), his team conducted an in-depth analysis of the cases of overseas returnees’ entrepreneurship, identifying the core conditions and typical pathways that drive high entrepreneurial satisfaction. This provided a scientific theoretical framework and practical insights for overseas returnee entrepreneurs.

During the Q&A session, teachers and students actively raised questions regarding issues such as the sample selection in the QCA method, the design ideas for qualitative analysis in papers, and the principles for determining variables. Drawing on his research experience, Professor Lin provided clear and concise answers to the audience’s queries. The attendees expressed that the lecture was not only academically profound but also closely related to reality, offering new ideas and directions for subsequent academic research and practical exploration.

This Feima Academic Forum not only deepened the understanding of teachers and students regarding the patterns of overseas returnees’ entrepreneurship but also provided important references for subsequent academic research in this field. The forum concluded amid warm applause. Participants expressed their anticipation for the next session, hoping to gain more cutting-edge academic knowledge and the exchanges of innovative thinking.
